Today’s Reading: 1 John 1:5-10
Today’s Verse: If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 KJV
There are many things in our lives that we get rid of on a daily basis.
Not only the things not needed in our homes, but also the things that are not needed in our lives.
We do it because the more we hold on to them, the more trouble they bring to our lives.
All who walk near to God, in holiness and righteousness, know that even on their best days they can be mixed with sin.
The Father knows that day-to-day life will always bring moments when we stray from the Word.
He has given testimony to the sinfulness of the world.
The reason He provided a sufficient, effectual Sacrifice for sin.
Jesus was that sacrifice.
He did it for the sinfulness of all believers.
He wants us to continually confess our sins. To walk by faith.
Confession means we understand what we have done.
That we are calling our sins what God calls them.
He has told us, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9 KJV).
He already knows what they are.
Giving env more reason not to fear revealing them.
His forgiveness is found, not just at church on Sunday, but every day of the week.
Let us honestly confess all our sins to their full extent.
Always relying totally on His mercy and truth.
It is through the righteousness of Christ that we receive free and full forgiveness.
We receive deliverance from the power and practice of sin.
God would have “cast all [our] sins into the depths of the sea (Micha 7:19 KJV).
Freedom from the bondage of sin is ours.
It is wonderful to know that no matter where we are, we can ask for His forgiveness.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Savior, we know our thoughts and deeds can lead to sin and selfish pride. That is why we have to acknowledge them before God. We need to be humble, and willing to know the worst of our case. God is a forgiving God. He will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea. It is good to know that no matter the time of day, we can bring all our worries to Him. Thank You Savior for paving the way. Thank You for always being there to remind of His undying love. We know He only wants the best for our lives.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
