Today’s Reading: Psalms 5
Today’s Verses: For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield. Psalms 5:12 KJV
Favor is an act of kindness. It goes beyond what is due or usual.
Through faith, we are granted a favor. One that also comes with approval and support.
As believers, God’s favor is like a shield. We are surrounded by His grace and mercy.
In this passage, David is praying. He is expressing his dependence on God.
We know that he was constantly seeking God for guidance. God’s protection, and judgment against his enemies.
He acknowledged God’s holiness and justice.
It shows a clear difference between the fate of the wicked with the blessings of those who take refuge in God.
We need to be the one who receives the wonderful blessings He has for us.
David was committed. He worshipped and put his confidence in God’s lovingkindness.
The mercy of God should always be the foundation both of our hope. The foundation of our joy. It should be in everything that we do with Him.
We will always find favor with God the more we pray. The more we seek His guidance. The more we ask for His protection.
Enemies will try to defeat us. But they cannot. God’s holiness and justice will always cause the enemy to be destroyed.
Christ died so we would have victory over the enemy. Because of His sacrifice, it is ours.
Our confidence in God’s righteousness should remain strong.
The more we take refuge in the Word, we will find joy and protection.
Let us commit to worshipping God. Acknowledging His mercy and love. Depending on Him for our guidance. Depending on Him for our protection.
God’s favor lasts a lifetime (Psalms 30:5 KJV).
Prayer is the key. Our faith unlocks many doors to His favor.
Let us learn to pray daily. Not for ourselves only, but for others also.
“For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield” (Psalms 5:12 KJV).
Grace be with all that love Christ in sincerity.
Find favor in His sight.
