Blessed and Highly Favored: A Wonderful Gift of Love

Today’s Reading: Psalms 84

Today’s Verses: For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. Psalms 84:11 KJV

Living a blessed and favored life. Something we should all desire.

Blessings and favor are rooted in God’s grace and love.

We will have our moments when we anger Him. The comfort is in knowing that His anger is only temporary. That His favor is everlasting (Psalms 30:5 KJV).

In Him, there is always room for forgiveness.

“For by grace are [we] saved through faith; and that not of [ourselves]: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV).

Our salvation and place in God’s kingdom. It is not earned through our own actions. It is a gift of God’s grace. A grace received through faith.

The more we live righteously and seek God, we open the door for favor.

“And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man” (Luke 2:52 KJV).

This serves as an example of how we need to align with God. Acknowledging His will and purpose leads to increased favor. With Him and man.

His favor is our shield against harm. It directs us toward good things.

We receive great guidance. Renewing our strength and helping us to overcome challenges.

When we continue to seek wisdom and follow His teachings, doors are opened.

His blessings and favor will be seen in positive relationships, Divine provisions, and even unexpected help from others.

The work of our hands will prosper in areas that align with His purposes.

We will be favored like Noah. He found favor with God during a time of widespread corruption. It led to the preservation of life through the ark (Genesis 6:13-14 KJV).

There was Esther. In this book we see how humble she was. How her obedience led to her finding favor with the King. This allowed her to save her people from destruction.

Joseph is another example. His story is told in Genesis chapters 37-50. Despite what he was going through, the Lord was with him. Showing him steadfast love. Giving him favor even in prison.

Mary is another example. The angle Gabriel informed her that she had found favor with God. A favor that led to her being chosen to give birth to Jesus (Luke 1:28-31 KJV).

The Word shows us it is not all about material wealth or the absence of difficulties. It is about a deep relationship with God.

One that is characterized by faith. By obedience. By righteousness. One that aligns our lives with His will and purposes.

We seek His favor. Trusting in His promises. Allowing His grace to guide and strengthen us through all circumstances.

“For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly” (Psalms 84:11 KJV).

Living a blessed and favored life. That should be our desire.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, we know that You are our Sun and Shield. You have all power. You want to protect us from all hurt, harm, and danger. We know what You have done it in so many lives in the Bible. The lives of those around us. We know what You have done in our lives. We are standing on Your promises. Give us the strength to walk uprightly before You. Trusting that You will provide all that we need. To live in accordance with You will.

In Jesus’ Name we pray, Amen
