Today’s Reading: Philippians 4:1-5
Today’s Verse: I beseech Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord. Philippians 4:2 KJV
There will always be a time when we do not come to an agreement on something.
We all need guidance on how to handle things.
As Christians we know the Bible contains valuable information.
The more we read it and see how others handled situations, the more knowledge we gain.
The Bible is the best, most reliable source anyone could ask for.
The Father always gives us the guidance we need.
We learn how to handle the struggles of life.
We learn how to speak in a manner that is pleasing to Him.
One that is accepted by those around us.
None of us want to say or do something we cannot take back.
It is not always easy to do.
There will be times when someone else may need to assist in the matter.
Someone with a calm spirit. The one who desires to help keep things on a more positive level.
The Savior wants us to be of one mind. Always ready to help each other.
Respecting the fact that there will be a time we see things differently.
He wants us to keep an atmosphere filled with peace and love.
Today’s passage speaks of a struggle that was being faced in the Philippian church.
Two faithful members, Euodia and Syntyche, were in sharp disagreement with one another.
It was to a point where the Apostle Paul felt the need to write a letter to the church.
He wrote, “I beseech Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord” (Philippians 4:2 KJV).
He was encouraging them to work through their problems. To come to a mutual agreement.
He also felt there needed to be someone else around to help them (Philippians 4:3 KJV).
Someone who had a spirit of gentleness.
More is accomplished when we do things according to the Word.
When our lives are filled with the true love of God, we know how to be successful in all areas of our lives.
He wants our lives to be filled with peace, love, and joy.
We can always trust that He will help us deal gently with one another.
Always restoring an atmosphere that comes to a positive end.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, we know there will always be t time when we do not agree. Let us remember how we present things always has a great impact on how our words are received. By Your Power help us to be gentle and show each other the same love You have shown each of us. Thank You for showing us how to handle things. We want to be of the same mind. To bring You the glory in all that we do.
