King’s Highway: This is the Greatest Life Path Taken

Today’s Reading: Isaiah 35:5-10

Today’s Verse: “And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.” Isaiah 35:8 KJV

Many have heard the song “Running Up the King’s Highway.”

The lyrics talks about running for Jesus a long time. Even though the devil is on our track, we are to keep on running.

We have a charge to keep. We have a God to glorify. We want to reach our heavenly mansion in the sky.

The “King’s Highway” describes a “way of holiness. It was created for the redeemed. On this highway, no dangerous beast or evil will be found. The unclean cannot pass over.

“Let us pass, I pray thee, through thy country: we will not pass through the fields, or through the vineyards, neither will we drink of the water of the wells: we will go by the king’s high way, we will not turn to the right hand nor to the left, until we have passed thy borders” (Numbers 20:17 KJV).

This was the main trade route the Israelites requested to use when travelling through Edom. It symbolized a direct secure path of faith. One of righteousness, and obedience. They promised to stay on the main road without turning right or left.

God’s path is secure. We will reach our destination safely.

The way of holiness is the way of God’s commandment. It is the good old way. And the way to heaven is a plain way.

Reading the Word is the way a believer’s duty are plainly marked out. Christ is the way to God. To all of the blessings He has for us.

Walking in the way of holiness shows we are walking in truth. We are doing things the right way. Even when no one is watching. We are following God’s commands. We are doing it without turning aside to worldly and sinful things.

Let us cheerfully walk in His way. Knowing that the end of this way shall be everlasting joy, and rest for the soul.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, we know we cannot tarry. We must continue to walk upright. To follow the straight path that You have set before us. We have a charge to keep. We want to glorify You. To show others how good and merciful You are. That the more we live according to the Word, everything will be alright. Thank You for sending Jesus to lead us on the path of righteousness. We are going to keep on running. Letting nothing turn us back.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
