Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. Psalms 1:1 KJV
We all should value our lives.
Value it in a way that we would not expose ourselves to needless dangers.
We should take the time to weigh the pros and cons before we make any decisions.
We want our decisions to be wise ones.
Psalms 1 is called a wisdom psalm.
The writer of this passage of Psalms describes that there are two ways or two directions in life.
That we are to choose wisely.
A wisdom Psalms because we are taught that one of these ways leads to true happiness.
A happiness that only results from our choice to follow God’s direction of life.
He would never lead us in a direction that would do us harm.
Everything is done for our good.
A wisdom Psalms because it describes that the other way leads to unhappiness.
Unhappiness because it is the wrong way that leads to misery.
We are to reject the ways of sin.
Sin will only bring us harm, make our lives seem good for a moment and end in defeat.
When we live according to the Word, we will be like a tree that is planted by the water.
A tree that bringeth forth fruit in his season.
One that will prosper forever.
Resulting in our lives being changed for the good.
We must have a constant regard for the Word.
It rules all our thoughts and actions.
Making it possible for us to tell others about the Lord.
Resulting in all of us receiving the blessings of the Lord.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, help us to stay away from those things that would cause us spiritual harm. Having a constant regard for the Word, which governs our actions. It is the source of our comfort. The best way to maintain our thoughts, both night and day. Thank You Savior.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
