Hope and Completion

Read: 1 John 3:1-5

Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 1 John 3:2 KJV

For all those football fans out there, there is nothing like the successful attempts of a forward pass.

Especially if that pass leads to a touchdown.

We know it doesn’t always happen on the first try.

Sometimes there are many attempts that are made before it is completed.

There will be times when a touchdown is not made, but they did not give up trying.

They continue to have hope and listen to the coach.

Having the expectation that the next go round they will complete making a touchdown.

They may not win every game but by the end of the season they hope to be the one that makes it to the Super Bowl and bring home the trophy.

No matter their place on the team they are seen as one.

Hope and completion are two words that are even more meaningful to Christians.

We all have a position on God’s team, and we are striving to do things according to the Word.

To do things the way Jesus has instructed us to do them as the Head Coach.

We have our moments when we sin, and we fall.

Moments when we need to remember to honor everything the Lord has told us so we can have many touchdowns in our lives.

Just like the coaches of the football team reminds the players of who they are and what they are capable of, God does the same with us.

He reminds us of who we are.

That even though things may not seem like we are winning, to keep pressing forward.

The Lord went through a lot for us and has coached us through life.

Just like any coach stands up for His team, God has claimed us as His.

None of us know how everything in our earthly lives will end, but we do know that we are to follow His lead.

Knowing that when He shall appear, we will be like Him, and we will see Him as He is.

A Coach that has our best interest in mind.

Making us members of a winning team with the Best Coach ever.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, we should all be striving for the day when we will see Christ, be like Him and gather at the blessed throne. We know this will only come true when we follow Your lead. You are the greatest Coach and the One that will lead us to this victorious moment. A moment of completion and purification. Thank You Father.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
