2 Corinthians 4:18 KJV
As the dawn approaches, we see the sun rising over the horizon and how beautiful it is.
The day is done, and the nighttime is upon us.
There are nights when we can see the stars and their brightness.
Sometimes the moon is full and other times we only see portions of it.
But there would be times when the skies are cloudy and dark, and we can’t see any of it.
Changing how we view things.
There are many things that occur in our lives, daily and even though they may only last for a moment, they have an impact on us.
We are not seeing the beauty of the day because of the clouds in our lives.
When Paul wrote to his church in Corinth, he took a moment to reflect on his own life and ministry.
He faced many hardships, and it was a battle for him to not lose heart.
Things were constantly changing.
The only way Paul had managed to keep fighting was to sharpen his focus, every day.
He fixed his eyes, not on what was seen, but on what was unseen.
That even though, outwardly, we are wasting away, inwardly we are being renewed day by day.
Even more a reason for us to fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen.
Paul wanted the Corinthians and us to grow in faith.
That although things were changing, we would trust God.
We may not see Him, but we can believe He is renewing us day by day.
Faith enables us to make this right judgment of things.
The glory of God, the anticipation of eternal life and happiness should be our support and comfort.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Faith is the best weapon against fainting in times of trouble. Lord, let us no longer look to the things which are seen and to the things of this world. Let us stand on the Word and things that are unseen, which give us the power to make our future happiness sure.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
