Lesson Plan

But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them. 2 Timothy 3:14KJV

The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot. Proverbs 10:7 KJV

Those who have grown up with someone who did not hesitate to show them what it meant to live a life according to the Word can relate to this passage.

When we learn the things of God, stand in faith and know the Holy Scriptures, we know they are the Divine revelation we all need to stand on.

The age of children is the age to learn.

But it is never too late even as we age.

All who would get true learning, must get it out of the Scriptures.

If our parents and grandparent stood on them, we should too.

Timothy had his grandmother Lois and his mother Eunice, who played a big part in his upbringing.

Their lives were rooted in the Scriptures.

Because of their living a life for Christ, what was planted in Timothy’s heart blossomed.

I am thankful that I had my parents, grandmother and other family members who help lay that path for me.

Thankful to be able to share this knowledge with my children, grandchildren and others that I encounter.

Our upbringing is not only foundational for our relationship with God, but it is also important when it comes to our ability to be used in the service of the Lord.

It is so rewarding to see that what we learned growing up was something that still holds true to this day.

That no matter how much the world changes, the Word still holds true. It will never change, we do.

As we continue to live a life for Christ, what was planted in, or hearts will continue to blossom.

Today, as well as in Timothy’s days, God desires to use faithful women and men to be examples to future generations.

So that they may continue to plant the seed of knowledge to future generations.

A seed that is watered daily in the way we live.

While we yet live and when we are gone, our prayers, words, actions and service can be powerfully used by the Lord.

We all have a legacy.

What would you like your legacy to be?

If you are reading this, it’s not too late to begin one.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, we pray that Your legacy does not stop with us. We pray that the legacy found in us will be passed down from generation to generation and to those we encounter. There is something in the Scriptures suitable for every one of us. Thank You!

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
