Today’s Reading: 1 Corinthians 11:23-32
Today’s Verse: For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come. 1 Corinthians 11:26 KJV
Communion Services represents the Lord’s Supper.
Many churches have a designated Sunday for Communion.
It is a time when believers remember the sacrifice Jesus made for our lives.
There are readings of the Scriptures that remind us of the sacrifice.
Scriptures that tell us what His sacrifice did for all mankind.
Bread and wine (usually a small cracker and grape juice) are used to represent the Savior’s body and His blood.
A feeling of gratitude is felt throughout the sanctuary.
The thought of His sacrifice even brings some to tears.
The Lord’s Supper is something to be acknowledged repeatedly without exception.
It is as Paul said to the Church of Corinth.
He said these powerful words, “For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come” (1 Corinthians 11:26 KJV).
It was something that did not stop at this one sitting.
Our communion services help to keep fresh in our minds His dying for us.
How it was His way of pleading for us.
How, even after His death, He is sitting at the right hand of God.
Our words can never express how great His love is for us.
Communion services are great ways of bringing us together.
A great way for us to celebrate His grace.
To celebrate and really express our love for Him.
But it does not stop there.
We should be giving thanks for His sacrifice daily.
Showing that we understand that His sacrifice.
That we know it is the symbol of God’s protection. Of His strength. Of the forever home He has prepared for us.
The greatest sacrifice ever made for us.
The love Christ showed for us on the cross is greater than words can eve express.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, Your love is so amazing. Your love is so divine. Jesus gave His life for us on the cross. He paved the way for us to live a good life. We are thankful for everything He has done and is doing in our lives. To You we give our souls, our lives, our all. We want to be devoted to proclaiming the Lord’s death until he comes. Thank You all that You are doing in our lives.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
