When I was growing up, my family always had gatherings at grandma’s house. The men would be together in the living room watching tv, talking or listening to music. The ladies would be in the kitchen finishing the food preparations or in the dining room setting up the table. The grands, and any friends that may have come over, would be on the porch talking, in the yard playing or in another area of the house doing something.
Then we were all called together, prayed, giving thanks for the blessings on our family, the ability to gather together and the food that had been prepared.
We were always having such a good time, none of us wanted to be the first to leave. It was such a comfort to be with those we loved.
That’s what Christ was doing in this verse.
He was comforting His disciples and comforting us as well.
We don’t have to worry about where we will be.
God has already laid the foundation and built the many mansions He knows will be needed.
We just have to follow Christ, believe and live according to the Word.
Then when we all gather at the heavenly mansion, see our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we will rejoice and shout out victories unto Him and God, the Father of us all.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, Because you are the Way, the Truth and the Life, we are saved and united with God. Thank you for arranging and preparing to receive us into Your Father’s house with it’s many mansions. We will forever praise Your name.
In Jesus Name we pray, Amen
