Forgiving Hearts of Kindness Empower the Results of Love

Today’s Reading: Ephesians 4:29-32 / Psalms 141:1-3

And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you. Ephesians 4:32 KJV

The tongue is a powerful weapon.

Powerful in more ways than one.

No one wants to disturb the peace and quiet of the hour.

We all have been cautioned to choose our words carefully.

Because our words have great meaning.

We can say something hurtful in a manner of seconds.

And even years later the wounds felt by our words, are still there.

All of us have the ability to show kindness.

To think before we speak.

As Christians, keeping control of our emotions is something the Savior desires from all of us.

Through prayer, we can seek the blessings of the Master to accomplish this on a daily basis.

Asking that He set a guard over our mouths.

Help us keep a watch over the door of our lips.

All so our hearts will not be drawn to what is evil or harsh (Psalms 141:3-4 NIV)

He will help us think seriously about the words we are about to speak.

Knowing that our conversations are to help encourage others.

To do as the Scripture had told us.

“And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you” (Ephesians 4:32 KJV).

This tell us how important it is to keep love in our hearts.

The Father does not want love to grow cold in our hearts.

He wants our outward expressions to reflect humbleness.

Always remembering that no matter the situation, we are to be forgiving.

We must forgive, as God has forgiven us,

Love is a kindness that comes from the heart of God.

It is one of the most helpful and healing things we can offer to others.

When we forget to live by the Word, knowing how to show love in this world will soon be forgotten.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, love has grown cold in the world. A kindness that is supposed to come from the heart has been lost in many. All of us have our moments when we allow anger to come into our situations. But as Your children we know that we have the ability to change our situations. To know what it means to forgive and be forgiven. Soften our hearts and help us to use our words to encourage one another to walk in love. It is the most helpful and healing thing we can offer each other. Thank You for Your love and forgiving Spirit.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
