By Him And For Him: Christ’s Ultimate Authority

Today’s Reading: Colossians 1:15-23

Today’s Verse: “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him.” Colossians 1:16 KJV

Creating things is an activity. We use our imagination and skills to make something new. They offer personal expression and joy in many ways.

God is the ultimate Creator.

The Bible says that God created everything. This includes things in heaven and on earth, both visible and invisible (Colossians 1:16 KJV).

He is the source and architect of the universe. He is the source and architect of life and our existence. He has all power, wisdom and purpose.

Jesus Christ, as Mediator, is the Head of the body. The church is the body. He has a divine role as the agent of all creations. This made Him greater than any created being, including the angels.

All fulness dwells in Him. It is a fulness of merit and righteousness. It is of strength and grace for us.

He is the source and the ultimate purpose of all things.

His desire is that we follow His leading,

Our creativity will show, the more we live by the Word.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Savior, we praise You for Your amazing power. The authority You had in creation. You created all things. You created us for Your purpose. Help us to keep You at the center of our lives. To recognize that You are there for us. We seek Your guidance in all that we do.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
