His Wisdom, Might, Riches: God’s Valuable Gift in Life

Today’s Reading: Jeremiah 9:23-26

Today’s Verses: “Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.” Jeremiah 9:23-24 KJV

In this world of sin and sorrow, it is foolish for men to glory in their knowledge, health, strength, and riches. We must be aware of false prophets who were giving a false sense of security and peace.

We can focus on material things. We glory in wisdom, might, or riches. They are temporary. They seem important at the moment but have no lasting impact. Someone can take them away. They are useless in final judgement.

We have to avoid doing anything that leaves us under the dominion of sin and the wrath of God.

Our true reason to “boast” or “glory?” Knowing we have a true relationship with God. We desire to know and understand Him.

God is not confined to one place. He is present from the highest levels of Heaven to the deepest parts of the earth.

He is all-knowing. He can see every hidden place. He has complete knowledge of all things.

His character is the basis for glory. Love, fairness, and doing what is right characterize his nature (Jeremiah 9:24 KJV).

As believers, we must humble ourselves. Acknowledging that all our wisdom comes from God. We should focus on and delight in Him.

We must worship God in the Spirit. Rejoice in Christ Jesus. Have no confidence in the flesh.

Every good thing comes from God and will last forever. Go after it without stopping.
