Today’s Reading: Ezekiel 12
Today’s Verses: “Therefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; There shall none of my words be prolonged any more, but the word which I have spoken shall be done, saith the Lord GOD.” Ezekiel 12:28 KJV
A scoffer is a person who mocks, derides, or treats with contempt for religious beliefs. They reject wisdom or authority. They reject spiritual truth or belief. They prefer their own desires over guidance.
In this passage the Lord instructs Ezekiel to answer the objections of scoffers. A direct response to the people of Israel.
People thought Ezekiel’s prophecies were about the far future.
He was to tell them that the Lord God said that He will no longer delay his words, That what He had spoken will happen (Ezekiel 12:28 KJV).
There will be times when we desire something to happen. We pray about it. When it does not, we begin to have doubts.
We often forget that God will fulfill any promise in the Word.
Even if results take longer than we want, staying committed to His guidance will lead to a positive outcome.
God has given us promises and warnings throughout the Bible.
Many examples show us that He will respond without delay, no matter how far off they may seem. We have to remember that His time is not like our time.
Let us not follow our own desires. We need to get to a point where we stop questioning His promises.
Staying rooted and grounded in the Word. Everything He has promised in the Word will come to pass.
We can always find words of wisdom in the Bible.
Trust and believe. Never let go of your faith.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, help us to remember that what You say will come to pass. Our time is not like Your time. You know what is best for us. You understand everything that we face in life. May the Word continue to build our faith. Giving us the power to overcome our doubts and fears. If You did it for the Jews in Jerusalem, You will do it for us. Thank You for being there for us. For always making a way out of no way. We do appreciate everything that You do for us.
