Guaranteed – By Faith Blessings Always Found in Bad Experiences

Read: 2 Kings 5:1-15

And he returned to the man of God, he and all his company, and came, and stood before him: and he said, Behold, now I know that there is no God in all the earth, but in Israel: now therefore, I pray thee, take a blessing of thy servant. 2 Kings 5:15 KJV

It has been said that in every unpleasant experience we encounter something good may be found.

Finding this good can be a challenge.

But we can.

The Scriptures will always give confirmation on how to manage anything we are going through.

Showing us how God can use our unpleasant experiences for good purposes.

There are so many examples that speak to what we are going through.

One such experience is seen in 2 Kings 5.

It is where we find two people who had unpleasant things happen to them.

The first was a young girl who was from Israel.

She was taken captive by the Syrian army.

She was a little housekeeper that waited on Naaman’s wife.

Secondly, there was Naaman.

He was the commander of the army and had leprosy.

It is amazing that even though this young girl had good reason to wish terrible things for her capture, she offered help to him.

She let his wife know about Israel’s Prophet Elisha.

The one who had the power to heal.

The wife then let her husband, the king, know about what she had heard.

The king of Syria contacted the king of Israel.

It was not looking good.

When Elisha heard about the matter, he told the king to let him come.

Naaman was eager to be cured, so he went to Israel.

However, he was not in favor of following the instructions Elisha had given him.

He felt that the instructions were humiliating.

When he finally decided to follow them, he was healed.

A healing that caused him to proclaim, “that there is no God in all the earth, but in Israel” (2 Kings 5:15 KJV).

It was more than a miracle.

Because of his experience, he was able to speak of the power of Divine grace.

It is amazing.

God used the kidnapping of a young girl and the healing of a deadly disease to be what caused a change in Israel’s enemy.

It turned their relationship into one of friendship.

There will always be times when we do not know why something is happening.

What we do know is that God has the power to use it for our good.

We are not to let our problems bring us down.

He has a purpose for everything we face in life.

He is the Master of turning our problems into blessings.

“Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1 KJV).

When we walk by faith, we are stronger than anything we face.
