Read: Luke 22:7-20
And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
Luke 22:19 KJV
There is nothing like the feelings felt when we look at pictures.
The pictures of our family, friends and loved ones.
How we remember all the times we have had together.
Especially the things we learn about and from them.
It is so precious and of immense value to our lives.
The realization of the love, peace, joy, and sacrifices that were made.
That is how it should be when we think about what the Father has done for us.
As children of God, we will never forget the sacrifices that were made.
When we read the Word, we have the mental pictures how He allowed Jesus to endure so much for our sins.
There is nothing more memorable than reliving the moments before our Savoir’s crucifixion.
How Jesus, before He was crucified, created such a remembrance of Himself.
There was a great communion between Him and His disciples.
One in which they did eat of the bread and drink from the cup all in remembrance of the Savior (Luke 22:18-20 KJV).
The bread signifying His life and the drink of wine His blood.
It was the last time He would dine with the disciples before He completed His mission.
Just like Jesus and the disciples engaged in communion, we have services of Holy Communion.
A comforting reminder of the Last Supper.
A time when we acknowledge our remembrance of His sacrifice.
It is a picture that remains in our minds and spirits.
A picture that is seen each morning when we wake.
A picture that is seen as we go through our day.
A picture that can be seen while we sleep at night.
The way we live our lives shows we understand the sacrifice Jesus made was for our lives.
It is our way of acknowledging His power, His presence, and His promises.
Each time of communion is a valuable celebration.
A blessed reminder of the fact that the One who died for our sins, will come again to take us home.
A reunion where we all who have been redeemed by His Blood will meet in His Heavenly Palace.
Singing songs of praise.
What a glorious reunion that will be.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, nothing can compare to the sacrifice Christ made for us all. Nothing can ever be more nourishing and satisfying to the soul as the fact that He died for the atonement for our sins. By Holy Communion may we truly never forget that the bread we share and the wine we drink is representative of the life and blood He shed for us on Calvary. All that we may have love, peace, and joy in our lives. Knowing that because we live according to the Word and as children of the Most High King we will never forget the sacrifices that were made. That we have a place in Heaven. Thank You Father.
In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
