The Greater Comes – Showing Love and Devotion the Key

Read: Philippians 1:12-20

What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice. Philippians 1:18 KJV

Some who are called to bring the Word become discouraged because they wish more people were worshiping with them.

What many fail to remember is the Father is not looking at the how large or small the congregation may be but that the Word is really being preached.

That the size of the church is not to be our focus. and even when it feels like we are failing, we are not.

It will change with time.

Paul is telling us that there are two types of people who preach about Christ.

There are some who do it out of “love” (Philippians 1:17 KJV).

And there are others who do it from “envy and strife” (Philippians 1:15 KJV).

The Lord has told us, “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them” (Matthew 18:20 KJV).

As the preacher brings the Word it will spread, and the congregation will grow.

True stewardship will bring to pass all that the Father has in store for the ministry.

The Spirit of Christ is our salvation.

Prayer is our key to assist in any situation.

Whatever our motivation, the Word must be preached.

All our desires should be that our rejoicing may be more abundant in Jesus Christ.

He has already decided what our service to Him will be, whether of labor or suffering.

But it will all be for His glory.

Let nothing keep us from being a true servant of the Lord.

The greater comes when we are.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Lord, to be honored by man should not be our focus. We are to walk in faith to find the strength we need during our times of temptation. We want to do what is pleasing in Your sight. Doing everything that will bring You all the glory and all the honor You deserve. We will preach Your Word and rejoice in it.

In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
