Living Water: The Spectacular, Sensational Source That Actually Satisfies

Read: Revelations 22:6-20

And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. Revelations 22:17 KJV

There are days in the Summer when it is so hot, we stay in a state of thirst.

We have always been told to keep some water in reach to make sure we stay hydrated.

In some instances, there are organizations that are sitting in areas, freely passing out water to those who desire to have some.

Sometimes we feel we will never satisfy our thirst.

I read a devotional that spoke about a pastor who was preaching on a hot day.

It was so hot that the people were having problems paying attention.

Now the pastor was bothered by the heat also, and at times would take a sip of water.

With each sip he would say, “Whosoever desires, let him take of the water of life freely”.

There was a little boy in attendance who was really listening.

At one point when the pastor made the statement again, he went to the pulpit.

He had placed it in his heart that if the paster made the statement again, he would drink of the water and he did just that.

The congregation was taken by surprise as the young man approached the pulpit and drank of the pastor’s water.

After drinking some of the water, he looked at the pastor, thanking him for the water and returned to his seat.

The pastor was moved and took that moment to make a spiritual point.

It was a great point reminding the congregation of how we must accept God’s invitation and drink of the Living Water.

There are many who stay spiritually thirsty because they do not take heed to what the Word says.

They listen to those who would change the Word around so they hear what they want to hear.

It keeps them in a state of sin.

We should never let anything give us the impression that what we do outside of the Word will save us.

Our faith in the Living Water is what saves us.

Our Savior knows what we need even before we need it.

The Word says it all.

The Lord has given each of us an invitation to come and be blessed.

All who will or is willing, let them come and take of the water freely.

He wants us to drink and live.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Savior, we all should have a thirst for the Word. You are the Living Water contained throughout it. Taking it as it is. Letting nothing or no one cause us to change what we know is true. We know all are condemned that are corrupt and who try to add or take from it and what You desire us to know. Let us stay strong in faith no matter how hard times may get. Always trusting in You Lord.

In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
