Today’s Reading: Ephesians 2:1-10
Today’s Verse: And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins. Ephesians 2:1 KJV
Sin is the death of souls.
In the Bible “born again” refers to our “spiritual rebirth.” The greatest change made in our lives.
It involves us moving from a life of sin to a new life in Christ.
We begin a relationship that guides us along life’s pathway. His graces and mercies keep us on the path to receive the promise of eternal life.
In Ephesians 2, the Apostle Paul speaks about how the Ephesian believers were spiritually dead at some point.
He told them they were dead because they had separated from God and enslaved themselves to sin (v. 5). They were condemned under the wrath of God.
They were in a state of hopelessness.
God, in His goodness, still had hope for them.
He took action to reverse this condition. To this day, He is still doing it for all mankind.
He poured out His rich mercy and great love on us.
Being born again involves moving from a life of sin to a new life in Christ.
He made it possible when He sent Jesus to die for our sins.
It was through His death and resurrection that we are made alive (Ephesians 2:4-5 KJV).
Our salvation is made easy when we show that we believe in the death and resurrection of the Savior.
It is great to have a new relationship with God.
Rejoicing because we have gone from death to life because of His goodness.
“Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” (Jonn 3:3 KJV).
Eternal life is ours when we live according to His will.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, we know that sin is the death of our souls. That we need to turn from our sinful ways and seek Your forgiveness. We want to “born again.” We want the “spiritual rebirth” You desire for our lives. We are made alive when we follow Your lead. It is the greatest change we can make in our lives. Thank You letting the Savior die on the cross. Making all things possible. Eternal life is the ultimate goal.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
