Victory: When You Finish This Great Race Called Life

Today’s Reading: 2 Timothy 4:1-8

Today’s Verse: I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7 KJV

A race can be defined as a strong or rapid current. One that flows through a narrow channel in the sea or river.

It can move or progress swiftly. It moves without delay, after a brief period of time.

Life is a race. We are running it to win.

But the path we take determines what our end will be.

Narrow is the gate and narrow is the way.

There will be times when we want to give up. But never give up.

We all have to start off walking before we can run.

In the Scriptures it is made clear that our narrow path is Jesus.

The more we follow Jesus’ path we grow stronger day by day.

Many will seek other avenues to Heaven but the only road that can possibly lead to it is Christ.

He made it possible through His sacrifice for mankind.

We want to finish strong.

Being able to say like the Apostle Paul: “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith” (2 Timothy 4:7 KJV).

And the more we remain steadfast in the Word, we will.

We all have a race to run.

Crossing the finish line by His grace is our goal.

Keep reminding yourself that, “There is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing” (2 Timothy 4:8 KJV).

Finish strong in Christ.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, we know that a Christian’s race is not a sprint. It is a marathon. May we be like Paul and keep the faith. We want to run a straight race. And we know we can do it with Your grace. Lifting our eyes and seeking Your face. Remaining steadfast in the Word. Following Christ is the path we must take. The prize we receive when we finish strong for Him. It is amazing all the comfort we will feel as we speak of how You are with us until we reach the finish line. Thank You for keeping us on the right path.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
