Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.
Psalms 19:12 KJV
It is a given fact that the more we learn to read and lean on the light of God’s Word, the more clearly we can see the flaws in our lives.
We may not like it, but we all need to think about the sins that may be lying beneath the surface and need to be cleansed.
It can remind us of the times we knew our household chores needed to be done.
We wish all we had to do was dust the furniture off and be done.
But we realized it truly required some in-depth cleaning.
That is how we sometimes look at the things in our lives.
We know we have some things in our lives that need cleaning, but we choose to only dust them off.
The Psalmist understood this.
He recognized the hidden nature of his sins and asked to be cleansed for his “secret faults” (Psalms 19:12 KJV).
We all have “secret faults”.
Going to church once a week and confessing our sins is good, but we need to be cleansed daily.
A daily cleansing that allows God’s Spirit to show us through the Word what needs to be confessed and changed in our lives.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, please cleanse us from our secret faults. Help us to realize our need to come to You daily for the cleansing we need. By Your mercy we are forgiven. By Your grace we have the power to live the right way. In the Word we find everything we need. Thank You for giving us a chance to change our ways. May our hearts be much affected with the excellence of the Word.
In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
