Then and Now: The Gift of Grace Always Receive

Today’s Reading: Romans 5:12-21

Today’s Verse: That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 5:21 KJV

We all know that depending on how we ask a question determines what the answer may be.

We also know that age makes a difference.

Example being a mom took notice that her four-year-old was running away from their newborn kittens. She had told him not to touch them. So when she asked him if he had touched them, he answered, “no.”

She than asked another question: “Were they soft?” His answer was “Yes and the black one meowed.”

With a toddler, a laugh and a smile would likely be our response.

Because we know they are not at the age where they know the difference between the truth and a lie.

But in Elias’s case someone had to call attention to it.

Causing us to call attention to our human condition.

David wrote in his confession “For I was born a sinner—yes, from the moment my mother conceived me” (Psalms 51:5 NLT).

The apostle Paul even said: “When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned” (Romans 5:12 NLT).

It applies to all of us.

Thankfully, there is hope!

Paul wrote, “God’s law was given so that all people could see how sinful they were. But as people sinned more and more, God’s wonderful grace became more abundant (Romans5:20 NLT).

It is a blessing to know that God is not waiting on us to make mistakes in order to attack us.

He wants us to recognize sins and come to Him in faith and repentance.

To seek His forgiveness.

Because we know He is all about showing grace, forgiveness, and restoration to all who come to Him.

That “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit” (Romans 8:1 KJV).

Let us not take for granted the love God has for us.

Let us strive every day to live a life without sin.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, we know that all have sinned a fallen short of Your glory. That we can find comfort in knowing that You are forgiving. That You want to shower us with Your grace and mercy. It is up to us to let the Word rule in our lives. Thank You for letting us come to You daily in faith and repentance. For always giving us the chance to change our ways and live according to the Word. Your wonderful grace will always rule.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
