Today’s Reading: 1 Corinthians 2:6-9
Today’s Verse: But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 1 Corinthians 2:9 KJV
It is common for someone to form a mental image of something not present.
God has blessed us with minds made to create things. It is done through the power of imagination. The Lord’s way of releasing creative thoughts into our lives.
It opens the doors to many possibilities.
“I Can Only Imagine.” A song sung by MercyMe. It reflects our anticipation of Heaven. Our encountering Christ. It gives inspiration from Biblical passages about the afterlife. About God’s glory.
Today’s verse gives support to the song’s title.
The Apostle Paule was speaking about the joys of Heaven. How they are beyond human understanding.
He tells us, “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him” (1 Corinthians 2:9 KJV).
He is even quoting Isaiah 64:4 KJV, which talks about God’s hidden wisdom.
It says, “For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.”
Paul is telling us about God’s plans. For those that wait for Him. The ones that love Him are beyond human semses or understanding.
There are many things which people would not do if they knew the wisdom of God. If they knew about His great works of redemption.
They are things which our senses cannot discover. No teaching can be received by our ears only. Our hearts cannot imagine or fully grasp His Divine truths.
We must take them as they stand in the Scriptures. Understanding God’s plans requires Spiritual insight and revelations.
When we read the Word, we start to think about what Heaven will be like.
The way that God has been pleased to reveal them to us.
We begin to think about how we are going to react when we finally see Jesus, face to face.
We can only imagine how it will feel to be surrounded by His glory.
When we all get to Heaven. What a day of rejoicing that will be. When we all see Jesus. We will sing and shout victory.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Savior, the love You have for us is already here. We are thankful for all that You have done in our lives. For all the things You will do. But today, we can only imagine what it will be like when we walk by Your side. Being surrounded by Your glory. We can only imagine how our hearts will feel. It will be a day when all the saints finally come together to forever worship You. Singing songs of Hallelujah praises to Your name. What a day of rejoicing that will be. May we continue to live life according to Your Word. Preparing for that glorious day.
In Jesus’ Name we pray, Amen
