Keep The Faith, We Know Better Days Are Coming

Today’s Reading: Nahum 1:7-15

Today’s Verse: Behold upon the mountains the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace! O Judah, keep thy solemn feasts, perform thy vows: for the wicked shall no more pass through thee; he is utterly cut off. Nahum 1:15 KJV

It is known that world news will always be found on the internet, television, radio, and mobile devices.

We know that the majority usually describes what is wrong. Crime, terrorism, war, and economic problems are always the main topic.

There are many things that put us in sinful states.

We focus more on the bad than the good.

But there are also times when good news overshadows the darkest hours of sadness and despair.

We will hear or read stories of unselfish acts, a medical breakthrough, or steps toward peace in war-scarred places.

We can watch or hear stories of church revivals, the testimonies of other saints, and the blessings received by those all over the world.

The words of Nahm recorded in the Old Testament of the Bible brought great hope to the people weary of conflict.

His words were describing God’s coming judgment on a ruthless and powerful nation.

He said, “Behold upon the mountains the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace! O Judah, keep thy solemn feasts, perform thy vows: for the wicked shall no more pass through thee; he is utterly cut off” (Nahum 1:15 KJV).

It was news that brought hope to all those facing unreasonable burdens.

To those who desired that all cruelty would stop.

That others would be free of the unjust treatment being shown.

In the book of Isaiah we see a similar phrase.

Isaiah stated, “How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!” (Isaiah 52:7 KJV).

In these prophetic words of hope spoken found in their words, we find the ultimate fulfillment at the first Christmas.

The one in which the angel told the shepherds, “Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord” (Luke 2:10-11 KJV).

This is the most important headline in our lives.

Everyday it is to be the absolute best news ever spoken.

Christ the Savior is born.

“And [He was] the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world” (1 John 2:2 KJV).

For those who believe in Him, we know that we can make it through all that the world brings our way.

The Word tells us, “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us” (Romans 8:18 KJV).

That better days are coming.

The good news we desire to hear.

Our daily reminder to remain strong and trust in the Word.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, the Word has always told us that there will be wars and rumors of wars. There will always be times of troubles all around us. No matter where we live. Those are the times we must be thankful for all Your ordinances, and gladly take part in them. Always looking forward with cheerful hope to a world where the wicked can never enter. Where sin and temptation will no more be known. Thank You that the birth of our Savior is the best news the world has ever received.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
