Today’s Reading: 1 Corinthians 15:51-58
Today’s Verse: But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:57 KJV
Victory is the defeat of an enemy in a battle.
The Children of God are fighting a Spiritual Battle.
Satan is busy. He knows the plans that God has for our lives. He is always trying to block our path. Trying to keep us from the blessings.
But we know the best way to defeat anything he brings our way.
All we have to do is pray and call on the name of Jesus. In the name of Jesus, we have the victory. In the name of Jesus, Satan has to flee.
Absolutely, nothing can stand before us when we call on His great name.
We have victory over any sin. We have victory over anything that tries to hold us down.
We are to praise the Lord for every victory He wins on our behalf.
In today’s verse the Apostle Paul is expressing gratitude to God. He is giving praise to Him for the victory that has been won on our behalf.
Acknowledging that our victories are not something earned. That they are a gift from God.
That all our victories are made possible because of Christ’s dying on the cross and His resurrection.
This verse is one of emotional support and powerful encouragement.
A great reminder that faith in Christ is how we overcome the power of death and sin.
We are spiritually born of God. We will always have the power to overcome the world’s temptations (1 John 5:4 KJV).
Faith in Christ is the key to our victory.
Sin is no longer our master. We are no longer under the law, but under grace (Romans 6:14 KJV).
We have a new identity in Christ.
We are to be steadfast and unmovable. Always abounding in the work of the Lord, Knowing that our labor is not in vain in the Lord. (1 Corinthians 15:58 KJV).
By the power of His grace let us live a life that is pleasing to Him.
Receiving the springs of His joy to our lives.
Victory is ours. Keep the faith.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, life can be a struggle. We want to be successful in overcoming them. We know that we have to be steadfast in reading the Word. Going back to it when we need to get answers to our problems. Knowing that what we read will be useful even later in life. The more we learn, our faith grows. We become more joyful and triumphant. Through our Savior, we have the victory. Thank You Father for all that You are doing in our lives.
In Jesus’ Name we pray, Amen
