Jesus Cares!

In the New Testament, two of the most revealing questions were asked of the Savior by people who loved Him deeply.

On one occasion, “it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word. But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.” (Luke 10: 38-40 KJV).

In today’s reading, “there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. And (the Lord) was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?” (Mark 4:38 KJV).

Both questions were asked by individuals who had seen the power of the Lord before. They expected Him to step in and relieve their anxiety.

To them, it seemed like the Lord was ignoring their situation.

Although the Scripture does not give us the tone of the Lord’s reply, His reply was probably gentle and caring.

To the disciples, “He said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?” (Mark 4:40).

To Martha, He said, “Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her” (Luke 10:41-42 KJV).

We will all have our moments of feeling alone. Times when we feel like we have too many demands in our lives. Stress covers our lives.

We may even cry out asking the Lord of He cares about our struggles.

When the storms of life are raging, the Savior will always rise and rebuke the wind. He will tell the sea, “Peace be still.” And it will obey (Mark 4:39 KJV).

The Lord is always there for us. We have so much more to learn about His compassion for us.

We have to learn how to trust Him with all of our concerns.

Faith over fear.

Jesus Cares!

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, we know that faith over fear is what we need. To always dwell on the thought that You care about us will keep us strong. No matter what life brings our way, You are always there. We put our trust in You. Thank You for caring about us. Thank You for all that You do in our lives.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
