Prayer: This is the Greatest Way to Handle Things

Read: 1 Thessalonians 5:14-20 / Daniel 6:1-10

Pray without ceasing. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 KJV

Question: Is there ever a bad time for prayer?

The answer to this question is “No.”

There is never an inconvenient time for prayer.

Prayer should be as natural as breathing.

We all know that there will be times when it does not seem like it is the best time to pray.

For some they may even feel it is dangerous.

Those are the times when we should remember the passage of Daniel in the lion’s den.

We read that, Daniel “kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime” (Daniel 6:10 KJV).

There had been a royal statute that was “to make a firm decree, that whosoever shall ask a petition of any God or man for thirty days, save of thee, O king, he shall be cast into the den of lions” (Daniel 6:7 KJV).

Daniel knew of the decree but continued to pray openly.

He was not afraid of the dangers to come.

His trust was in God.

He is one of the greatest examples that shows us that there is always a time to pray.

That nothing that man sets before us should stop us from praying.

To let nothing keep us from giving God thanks.

That is why, even in our trying times, we must keep our confidence in the Lord.

We are to “pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17 KJV).

To Christ we must turn our eyes.

In Ephesians 6:18 KJV, Paul has also told us to be always in an attitude of prayer.

He said, “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.”

As Christians, we know that prayer is the key.

That our faith is what unlocks the doors to all the wonderful blessings He has for us.

That the more we read the Bible. the Scriptures will guide our lives.

A truly religious life that can be filled with constant joy.

The more we pray, the more we have time to rejoice.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, we know that there is never an inconvenient time for us to come to You in prayer. You are there for us all hours of the day. The minute we open our mouths to speak to You, we know we have Your attention. Let nothing cause us to fear ever coming to You. You are greater than anything we can face in life. Praying without ceasing is Your command. One we vow to follow. Thank You for always being there for us.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
