Read, Hear, Do!

But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
James 1:22 KJV

Education is our ability to acquire knowledge and skills that will benefit us in life.

Reading is one way to accomplish this.

Listening to someone who has knowledge in the area of interest is another.

But in both cases, what you do with what you learn determines if you will benefit from it.

The Bible is the greatest book we could ever read.

The knowledge and skills obtained from It gets us through anything we face or choose to accomplish in life.

When we are in a school, we hear lectures.

When we go to church, we hear a sermon.

We listen to what they have to say on a subject or matter.  Taking great notes.

The sermon coming from the best book, with the best lesson plan.

When it is all said and done, what we do with what we heard determines our success.

The Lord wants us to be “Doers”.

One who truly receives the Word and acts on what they hear.

To live according to It and receive all the blessings He has in store for us.

Don’t deceive yourself and only rest in hearing the Word.

Be ye “Doers” of the Word.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Lord, we all have a lot to learn during our lifetime. May we get the education that we need to not only be hearers of Your Word but doers of Your Word also. That we do all that You would have us to do.

In Jesus name we pray, Amen
