Reconciliation – The Time Is Now

And they gathered together to Mizpeh, and drew water, and poured itout before the LORD, and fasted on that day, and said there, We have sinned against the LORD. And Samuel judged the children of Israel in Mizpeh.  1Samuel 7:6 KJV

All of us have had our moments when we have done something that we should not have done.

No matter how big or small, it still was not right.

To continue to do these things makes it even worse.

Those are the times we need to take a good look at ourselves and determine the action to take.

Will we continue in our human ways or will we repent of our sins and walk in a godly manner.

We can’t have it both ways.

We must choose.

That’s what the Israelites did.

We should follow their example.

They knew they had sinned.

Confessed it and solemnly repented.

All through the pouring out of their hearts to the Lord.

Giving all the glory to God for the things He had done for them.

We have the same opportunity.

The opportunity to go to our Father is ours.

We can confess our sins, repent and ask for forgiveness by going to Him directly, in prayer.

Another way is to get with a group of fellow worshippers, or someone we know is a faithful follower of Christ.

It can be a church service altar call, prayer and worship call, or even in a group Bible study.

Talking and praying about our situations is the best way to get the spiritual support we need.

A support much needed because it can be hard for any of us to take these steps alone.

We all have sinned and can use some support.

The comfort is in knowing that God is faithful and just when it comes to forgiving us of our sins.

We just have to confess and repent.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, We know that we must recognize that we have done wrong. Showing a deep regret for doing what we have done. All the pain and problems we may have caused. We strive to resolve them by being committed to Your Word.  Striving to never repeat them again, regardless of the temptations or situation.  With Jesus as our guide, let us continue to walk in obedience to Your Word.

In Jesus name we pray, Amen
