Today’s Reading: Romans 12:1-8
Today’s Verse: I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. Romans 12:1 KJV
With any sport, every successful athlete has to learn to trust the coach,
They trust him enough to do whatever he asks them to do.
Knowing it is for the good of the team.
There is a dedication to the coach.
God is our “Heavenly Coach,” and we should be dedicated to Him.
He is leading and guiding us through our journeys in life.
That is why, “By the mercies of God, [we are to] present [our] bodies [as] a living sacrifice (Romans 12:1 KJV).
It is our way of saying to the Savior, “I trust You. Whatever You desire me to do, I am willing to do it.”
We acknowledge that we desire to no longer be “conformed to this world.”
That we are willing to be “transformed by the renewing of [our] mind.”
Proving that we know “what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” (Romans 12:2 KJV).
Making it where we are able to focus on the things that pleases the Savior.
In all things, we must remember that God will never call on us to do something for which He has not already given us what we need to complete it.
Paul even reminds us that we all have “gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us” (Romans 12:6 KJV).
That we receive from the Lord every day the fruits of his mercy.
We can trust Him with our lives.
The work of the Holy Ghost begins with our understanding.
It continues until there is a change of the whole man into the likeness of God.
Our will, affections, and conversation will change.
We are strengthened by the knowledge that He created us.
He is helping us to make great achievements through Him.
Therefore, let us not fall in with the customs of those who walk in the flesh.
No longer being like those who have a mind for earthly things.
Let us gladly give of ourselves to Him.
True believers will always dedicate themselves to Him.
The more we do, the better our lives.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, in knowledge, righteousness, and true holiness we want to live. We know it is only beneficial when we do it with You. There is so much joy that comes from our giving ourselves to You. May we pray daily for the renewing of our minds. Making it where the right spirit dwells in us. And that others will come to know of Your mercy. That they too will offer their bodies as a living sacrifice. It is our reasonable service. Thank You for being in our lives. We are nothing without You.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
