Strong Faith: Great Help When Things Seem Really Bad

Today’s Reading: 2 Kings 6:8-17

Today’s Verse: And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. 2 Kings 6:16 KJV

Things are not always as they seem.

Appearances can be deceiving.

The initial impression may not reflect the full truth or reality behind it.

Sometimes we must look beyond the surface to understand the whole story.

In this passage, it appeared that Elisha and his servant were about to be captured and carried off by the King of Aran.

The city in which they were staying had been surrounded by the king’s forces.

The servant believed they were destined to die.

But Elisha told him, “Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them” (2 Kings 6:16 KJV).

He knew that the God he served was greater than the enemy.

“Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open [my servants] eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha” (2 Kings 6:17 KJV).

They had protection all around them.

We will all have our moments of doubts.

Situations that seem hopeless.

They are not always the way we think they are.

When we have our moments of feeling overwhelmed and outnumbered.

Things are always better than they seem to be when we remember that God is by our side.

Always remembering, “For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways” (Psalms 91:11 KJV).

Greater is He that is in us, than he that is in the world.

We are never alone in anything we face.

Victory will always be ours when we keep the faith.

Keep the faith.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, we all have our moments of fear. Open the eyes of our faith. So we may see thy protecting hand. A powerful hand that defeats the plans of the enemy. Help us to remain strong in the Word. To believe that You are willing and able to help us in any situation we face. Thank You for encamping Your angels around us. Giving us protection every day.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
