Read: James 4:4-10 / Job 1
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7 KJV
As Christians we are always under attack.
There are always going to be moments that the enemy finds a way to attack us with physical force or unfriendly words.
It is a way of trying to bring hurt or damage to our spiritual well-being.
To make us become enemies of God, just like he is.
But we have a weapon that will always defeat the attacks of the enemy.
In our times of being attacked we are to do as James said in the Word.
“Submit [ourselves] therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from [us]” (James 4:7 KJV).
The Master has given us the greatest weapon to win any battle.
That is what Job did when he resisted Satan’s attack.
He said, “Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD” (Job 1:21 KJV).
He was showing us how we came into this world, that in all our troubles, we can look to the Lord, and He will support us.
Our Savior even resisted the devil in the wilderness (Matthew 4:1-11 KJV).
“Jesus [said] unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.”
He did it by quoting the Scriptures and submitting Himself to the Father’s care.
We can do the same.
The Scriptures have everything we need to defeat the enemy.
By faith, we grow stronger.
Putting our trust in the Father will always end in victory.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, when Satan tries to attack us may we remember to fight the good fight of faith. To always seek You first, before we do anything. We know that prayer is the best weapon we have in any battle. That any prayer based on Your Word will always end in victory. We humbly submit ourselves to You. We know that You will always be our strength in the time of struggle. Thank You Father for always being there for us.
In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
