Tell Him What You Want

And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight. Mark 10:51 KJV

The Lord has always encouraged us to come to Him with all our needs. But we need to be specific.

Our prayers should be to the point and not as someone unable to think clearly.

Be as specific as you can. Say exactly what you are wanting Him to do for you.

That is what Bartimeus did when he asked to be healed.

He had heard of Jesus and his miracles, and when learning that he was passing by, hoped to recover his eyesight.

He made his way and called out to Jesus.

Jesus responded with the question, “What wilt thou that I should do unto thee?”

His reply was, “Lord, that I might receive my sight.”

He was specific.  Right to the point.

In coming to Christ for help and healing, we should do the same.

Christ is gracious and gives all of us the opportunity to come to Him.

He encourages our hope, that if we come to Him we shall have what we come for.

Where the gospel is preached, or the written words of truth circulated, Jesus is passing by and that is our opportunity to seek Him.

It is not enough to come to Christ for spiritual healing, but, when we are healed, we must continue to follow Him, honor Him, and receive instruction from Him.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Lord, Thank You for our spiritual eyesight.  The sight that allows us to see the beauty in You and all that You desire for us.  Let sinners and those that need to repent be exhorted to imitate blind Bartimeus and go before You for their needs. Thank You for Your love, grace and mercy.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
