The Ultimate Question: “Do You Want to Be Well?”

Read: John 5:1-16

When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole? John 5:6 KJV

All over the world there are those who are sick and disabled.

They do not like their situation but wish to hold on to it.

They choose to remain in their situation because they want to keep away from the responsibilities of life.

There are also those who refuse to give up habits, foods, and other things they know are causing harm to their lives.

The discipline that is needed to improve their health is not there.

We all need to be mindful of what is best for our lives.

To take all the right steps to continue to make the much-needed changes.

The same holds true when it comes to our spiritual well-being.

In this passage, there were many who were waiting for the cure at the pool of Bethesda (John 5:1-9).

There was one individual “which had an infirmity thirty and eight years” (John 5:5 KJV).

“When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?” (John 5:6 KJV).

He did want it and he did receive it.

Divine healing.

Many people do not have a desire to change their thinking or to repent of their sins.

But for those who do, it is good to know that the Lord is standing ready to free His people.

To break the bonds of sickness, drugs, alcohol, jealousy, selfish anger, greed, and any conducts that are unbecoming.

He want to deliver us from all things that are not pleasing and keeps us from living according to the Word.

It will only happen when we truly desire to be cleansed, freed and changed.

We have to be ready to accept that with the change we have the responsibility of a new way of life.

We need to take the time to recognize what in our lives needs His healing touch.

To be completely honest with ourselves and ask, “Do I really want to be made whole?”

Remembering that only when we confess our weaknesses can we be strong in the Lord.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, we know that it is only when we admit that we have weaknesses that we can be strong in You. That Your precious grace will be found and cover all our sins. A grace provided for the healing of mind, body, and spirit. The more we live according to the Word we will always be kept pure and whole. Thank You for giving us the chance to be made whole.

In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
