Today’s Reading: Habakkuk 2:1-4
Today’s Verse: And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. Habakkuk 2:2 KJV
In this passage, the Prophet Habakkuk was seeking guidance from the Lord.
He said he would wait on His response, no matter how long it took. He waited in faith.
This verse was a direct command that he write down what he wanted to achieve.
That he was to make it plain. So he would remember his goal. So when others read it, they understood what he was trying to accomplish.
It shows the importance of recording one’s goals. Especially those that are inspired by faith.
Habakkuk’s vision was not just to be written. It was to be made “plain on tablets.” Clearly expressing his thoughts and feelings.
Once it was written and understood, it became easier to share with others. It allowed them to understand and inspire a movement toward its fulfillment.
We too are instructed to do the same.
We are to define a clear vision. What we hope to achieve. What we want to accomplish. What kind of person we want to become.
We think about the influence or effect it will have.
Will it be positive or negative?
We write it down.
We want to make it something we can touch or see. A physical experience.
Writing helps to make things clear and less confusing. It helps us to create a physical picture of our goals. A way to prevent forgetting. A reminder and guidance for our journey.
We want to “make it plain.”
We want to make sure that our vision is easy to understand. Especially when we communicate with others. Our information is clear. Done in a few words. It is brief but understandable.
Set timelines. We want to break things into steps.
We must establish a timeframe for achieving our goals. This is important because it helps us to maintain motivation. It helps us track our progress. It keeps us from worrying about our ability to achieve something, We can stay focused.
There will be times we need to review. To make some adjustments.
Take the time to regularly review the vision. Checking to see the progress made.
Praying and seeking guidance from the Lord.
Always being open to changing our approach or timeline.
When we follow these steps, we can transform our vision. Changing it from a mere idea into a concrete plan.
Write the vision. Make it plain. This will make it easier to share with others. They will understand your goal. They will want to support you. They will desire to participate in its fulfillment.
The journey we take may not be easy. He never said that it would be. But with the Lord on our side, all things are possible.
Put your trust in Him.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, give us the knowledge to write out our vision. To make it plain. We want to run on in this race. Not be weary and faint. We know we can count on You to be there for us. He always does just what You said You would do. Through Your guidance, we want other to desire to follow this same path. To write their vision and make it plain. Making it where we join and complete it together. Being supportive of each other. Thank You for helping us to stay on track.
In Jesus’ Name we pray, Amen
