Together As One

But the queen Vashti refused to come at the king’s commandment by his chamberlains: therefore was the king very wroth, and his anger burned in him.  Esther 1:12 KJV

Though the name of God be not in this book, know that the finger of God is shown.

These events are written for the bringing about His people to deliverance.

We are His people.

In our lifetime, we will be faced with situations we don’t agree with.

Someone may be demanding that we do something we don’t feel comfortable with doing.

Something that we know is wrong or out of our comfort zone.

And when we refuse, they get mad and upset with us.

They begin to listen to what others have to say.

Even to the point they distance themselves from us.

It happens all to often with women.

That is what was happening to Queen Vashti.

King Ahasuerus’ had been drinking quite a bit of wine with his guests.

He wanted to show her off and therefore commanded her to appear before them.

She did not feel comfortable with it and refused to do so.

The situation got even worse when the king began to listen to what some of the male guests began to say.

Things ended badly, but didn’t have to.

He may have been the king, but even Jesus, the King above all kings, never treated a woman in a demanding way.

Even in a male-dominated society, the Lord says that a woman should be treated with dignity and honor.

When we have control of our spirit, things can be reasonably refused.

Talked about and handled in a godly manner.

God created man and woman to be a complement to each other.

When we don’t treat each other equally and with respect, we are going against the Word.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Lord, there are going to be times when we get angry with one another. Let us rejoice in knowing that  when we follow the Word, It will overrule anything that mankind can present to us. That man and woman were created to be a blessing to one another.  Not to rule over one another.

In Jesus name we pray, Amen
