Victory: This is A Powerful Way to Always Win

Read: Hebrews 12:1-11 / 1 Corinthians 9:24-27

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us. Hebrews 12:1 KJV

In our Christian journey there will be things that try to bring us down.

Worldly weights seem to be all around us.

Those are the times when our determination to be obedient in faith comes in.

To be like the Hebrews in this passage.

It reads, “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us” (Hebrews 12:1 KJV).

They recognized that their persevering obedience of faith in Christ, would be what they needed to run the race set before them.

Knowing that they would either win the crown of glory or have everlasting misery for their portion.

We must understand that the sin that so easily besets us are the things we are prone to do.

They are most seen in our habits, age, or circumstances.

By continuing to do the things that bring us harm, we contribute to our own spiritual failures in life.

But we have the ability to change things.

Let us put off evil thoughts.

Get rid of the habits that bring us down.

All of the bad feelings we may have towards someone.

As we notice anything that is not of God, be determined to make a change.

Remembering He has told us to “lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us.”

Let us get rid of all our worldly weights.

They will always bring us down.

They cause us more harm than good.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, we know that our Christian lives can be troubling. Worldly weights are often the blame. As we notice anything that is not of You, we must be determined to make a change. Never forgetting that when we are weary and faint in our minds, to remember that the Savior even suffered through them. All in an effort to save us from eternal misery. And because of this we will always have the ability to rid ourselves of anything that tries to keep us down. Anything that tries to keep us from running the race You have set before us. We want to have the victory. Thank You for always being there for us. For helping us to be winners in all we do.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
