When watching tv, listening to the radio, or even on our phones, we can get alerts on many things.
They give us advanced notice regarding Amber Alerts, Storm Warnings, and Traffic Issues, just to name a few.
We even have warning instructions that come with the products we buy.
All cautionary advice that we should be thankful for, because it saves a persons life in many ways.
That is what James was doing when he wrote his instructive letters in the New Testament.
God has given us the Word on how to live and how to live abundantly.
Our problem is we hear the Word, but we don’t always do what it says. Causing us more harm than good.
No condition of life should keep us in sin or misery, hindering us from following the Word and rejoicing in God.
We deceive ourselves when we do this.
He has given us the warning signs of what not to do, it is up to us to adhere to them.
Be doers, not just hearers.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, we know that You are not to blame for the things that happen in our lives when we do not live according to Your Word. May we stop deceiving ourselves, listen to what You say and live accordingly. All the warning signs are there. Thank You Savior for the love and patience You have with us. We will do better.
In Jesus name we pray, Amen
