Watch Fantastic Things Happen When Powerful Faith Brings Obedience

Read: Jeremiah 32:1-9, 16-25

So Hanameel mine uncle’s son came to me in the court of the prison according to the word of the LORD, and said unto me, Buy my field, I pray thee, that is in Anathoth, which is in the country of Benjamin: for the right of inheritance is thine, and the redemption is thine; buy it for thyself. Then I knew that this was the word of the LORD. And I bought the field of Hanameel my uncle’s son, that was in Anathoth, and weighed him the money, even seventeen shekels of silver. Jeremiah 32:8,9 KJV

There will be times in our lives when we have to make big decisions.

Ones that can end in victory or defeat.

The Lord will place in our hearts something He desires us to do.

We will struggle within ourselves, but by faith we can find the courage to obey.

And as time goes by, we will experience God’s blessings.

In our Bible reading today, we see that Jeremiah bought a piece of land from his cousin, Hanameel.

He bought it during a time when Jerusalem was under siege.

Jeremiah bought the land even though he had already prophesied that the city was going to fall (Jeremiah 32:5 KJV).

Why would anyone want to buy land in an area that was about to be occupied by the enemy?

It did not seem like the right thing to do.

It did not make sense.

He did it because the Lord told him too (Jeremiah 32:6,7 KJV).

As the Lord had told him, Hanameel, his uncle’s son, came unto him and he purchased the field (Jeremiah 32:8,9 KJV).

The Lord used this situation to magnify His promise to Israel.

That the “Houses and fields and vineyards shall be possessed again in this land” (Jeremiah 32:15 KJV).

As followers of Christ, we need to have the same willingness to obey.

Obeying even when it does not seem to make sense.

When our Savior gives us a command, it should be our desire to do our part.

To believe in Him and carry it out.

He knows what He desires for each of us.

He wants only the best for us.

We may not have a situation like Jeremiah had, and it may seem pointless.

What we do know is that whatever God calls us to do, we need to have the faith to obey.

We all have a call on our lives.

Prayer is the key to our understanding.

Faith is what will keep us on the path He desires for our lives.

Prosperity is ours when we do.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, we know that sometimes obeying You can be hard at first. It gets easier when we come to see that what You are asking is for our good, We see that it is good to manage our worldly affairs in faith. To do things according to the Word.
It makes our lives full and free. Remembering we may not always understand why, but to obey is what we must do. Thank You for the guidance You give.

In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
