Today’s Reading: Hebrews 11:1-31
Today’s Verse: Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1 KJV
We know that it is the Lord’s desire that we all walk in faith.
But as we honestly look at our lives, most of us will find a number of areas where we struggle to trust Him.
There are days that it is easy to surrender our control.
While at other times we quickly take matters into our own hands.
Faith always has been the mark of God’s servants, from the beginning of the world.
We should be thankful that He is patient and loving.
His Word teaches that sanctification is the process of making us holy.
That it is not just the end result.
Children are a wonderful way to show how this works.
We know when toddlers learn to walk, they start by pulling up on something.
They stand and then take a step.
Naturally, they fall, at which point we help them back up so they can keep progressing.
In this same way, God is showing us how to live according to our faith in Him.
He knows we will make mistakes.
But our falling and getting back up again are a part of the learning process.
It is the object of our hope, are the object of our faith.
That is why we must study Scriptures.
The Bible gives the most true and exact account of the origin of all things.
We are to believe in it. Every Word is true.
We must get to know God’s nature and learn about His promises.
When we do these things, our confidence in God grows.
Our growth enables us to make choices that require us to believe in and lean on Him.
Stepping out in faith and experiencing His provisions helps our trust grow.
The more we learn to depend on Him.
Let us consider the responses, actions, and decisions we have made in the past few days.
How many of them were led by the Spirit?
How many were human reactions based on self-reliance?
To live on the basis of trust in the Lord requires belief and action.
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1 KJV).
The more we allow the Savior to lead us, our faith will grow.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, faith proves to the mind the reality of things that cannot be seen by the bodily eye. It is the principle of our holy obedience. Making it where we can provide remarkable services to You. And it gives us the strength to be patient in times of suffering. May we no longer let human reactions govern our lives. We want to be led by Your Holy Spirit every hour of the day. Your Word is giving us the wisdom to let You take the lead in our lives. To help our faith grow. Our faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Thank You for it all.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
