When You Answer and Listen, Wonderful Life Changes Happen

Today’s Reading: Genesis 3:8-17 KJV

Today’s Verse: And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? Genesis 3:9 KJV

Where are you?

Growing up when we heard our names called loudly and firmly followed by this question, we knew we were in trouble.

Most times we did something wrong and tried to hide.

The sternness in our parents’ voices was out of concern for our well-being.

They wanted to make sure we did not do anything that would cause us harm.

We know that Adam and Eve were used to hearing God’s voice in the garden.

But after they had disobeyed Him by eating the forbidden fruit, they hid from him when they heard Him calling.

“Where art thou?” (Genesis 3:9 KJV).

They did not want to face Him because they knew they had done something wrong.

Something that they knew He had told them not to do (Genesis 3:11 KJV).

His words to them included correction and what the outcome of their actions would be (Genesis 3:13-19 KJV).

He also showed them kindness.

He gave them hope for mankind in the promise of the Savior (Genesis 3:15 KJV).

The message is, those who by sin go astray from God, should seriously consider where they are.

When we are afar off from all that is good, we are in the bondage of Satan.

On a path that is a high road that leads to nothing good.

Unlike our parents, the Father does not have to look for us.

He knows where we are.

He knows what we are trying to hide.

Thankfully, He is a loving Father.

He speaks to our hearts and brings us forgiveness.

He restores us.

His desire is that we always hear His voice.

When God calls, answer and listen to all that He is telling you.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, we know that Romans 3:23 has told us “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” But You continue to speak to us regarding changing our ways. Thank You for the love and care You give us. For sending the Savior to fulfill Your promise of forgiveness and restoration. When we hear Your call, let us answer and listen to all that You are telling us.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
