Wonderful: Nothing Like Being Devoted to Giving Him Credit

Today’s Reading: Jeremiah 9:23-26

Today’s Verse: But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD. Jeremiah 9:24 KJV

In a world of sin and sorrow, it is foolish for anyone to glory in their knowledge, health, strength, or riches.

To think they got where they are on their own.

Forgetting where all their help came from.

All our “help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth” (Psalms 121:2 KJV).

During a time of judgment, the Lord spoke to the Israelites through the Prophet Jeremiah.

He said, “Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches” (Jeremiah 9:23 KJV).

He did not want them to glory in anything that leaves them under the dominion of sin.

Instead, He wanted them to understand and know Him. To recognize that He is the Lord who exercises lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness on the earth. How He takes delight in these things. (Jeremiah 9:24 KJV).

God wanted His people to acknowledge Him.

To remember His excellence above all things.

That is why we cannot allow self-praise to influence our lives.

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above” (James 1:17 KJV).

As true followers we must acknowledge where our gifts come from.

Giving worship God in the Spirit. Rejoicing in Christ Jesus.

We show no confidence in the flesh. Only in what the Father has told us.

Our lives are better when we give God the glory.

It is the best way to protects our hearts from pride.

The Father is always doing magnificent things in our lives.

Many marvelous things without number (Job 5:9 KJV).

Others need to know of His goodness.

To know of all the many things He can do in their lives.

Blessings will begin to flow. Wonderful changes will be made in our lives.

In everything we do, may we never forget to give God the glory.

That everything that comes from Him will last forever.

Always acknowledging that God is the One who deserves all the credit.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, it is not us, but Christ that is be honored. He is to be loved and exalted. To be seen and known in our lives. We are to acknowledge in every thought and word. May we never forget that to glory in ourselves is not good. That in the end we have to give an account for everything we do in life. That depending on what we have done can result in misery. We must never forget that we were created to give You the glory. Thank You for all You are doing in our lives.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
