Your Choice: Choose this Wonderful Gift of Life

Today’s Reading: Deuteronomy 30:11-20

Today’s Verse: I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live. That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them. Deuteronomy 30:19-20 KJV

We all should have a desire to know what God’s will is for our lives.

We try to find it, but question whether or not we can find it. We worry about our being able to recognize it.

We feel like it is hidden.

Those are the times we have to change our view of God and stand on the Word.

The Father takes no pleasure in seeing us lost. Wandering and searching. All in the wrong direction.

He wants us to know His will.

He makes it simple and clear.

He gives us two choices. He said, “See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil” (Deuteronomy 30:15 KJV).

The Lord we would have problems making the best choice, so He tells us which one to choose.

He has told us to “choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live” (Deuteronomy 30:19 KJV).

When we choose life, we are choosing God Himself. Determined to obey His Word.

When Moses was addressing the Israelites for the last time, he encouraged them to make the right choice.

Telling them “to observe to do, all the words of this law. For it is not a vain thing for you; because it is your life” (Deuteronomy 32:46-47 KJV).

God desires that we have life. His Word is life. Jesus is the Word.

Jesus is the perfect example to follow for every decision we make.

Making the right choice is not always easy, but when we follow the Word, it will be our guide.

And when we make worship our goal, God will grant us the wisdom to make the right choices in life.

When we choose to live according to the Word, the good and right ways are always brought near, and plainly revealed to us.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, we know that there will be times when we are not sure of the path we should take. Spiritually, our choices only lead to one of life filled with good or one of death filled with evil. Let us be wise enough to choose life. Choosing to obey Your Word and follow the examples of Christ. We know that true wisdom comes from Him. Help us to trust in You. To seek Your face and Your will. May the evidence of Your guidance be seen by others. Helping to choose life through You. Thank You for blessing our lives and helping us to make the right choices.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
