A Strong Faith

Read:  Mark 9:19-25

Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. Mark 9:23 KJV

When we use “if” in a sentence we are indicating that the situation could be happening or might have happened.

Depending on the circumstances.

In this passage, the man that Jesus was speaking these words had a son who did not speak.

He had what was said to be a mute spirit.

The man had witnessed the disciples inability to cast out the spirit.

Because of this, he was having doubts that Jesus could help him.

He even said to Jesus, “But if You can do anything, have compassion on us and help us” (Mark 9:22 NIV).

The father of the suffering youth wanted the cure to happen, but the if in his plea showed a lack of faith.

Jesus didn’t tell the father to take back the if, but He put it where it belonged.

He put the if back on the father when He said, “If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth” (V. 23).

Giving the father the opportunity to change his way of thinking.

With this the father’s trust was strengthened, and he humbly asked for the help he needed to overcome his unbelief.

Like with this man, it is possible for our hard hearts to be softened and all our spiritual diseases be cured.

Because his if changed, Jesus spoke the word, and his son was healed.

When we change our if, Jesus will speak the Word over our lives and we can receive the Diving Healing we need too.

All things are possible for those who trust in the Lord.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Lord, unbelief is not the way. We must look up to You believing that You will provide the grace we need to help us fight against it. Faith is as small as a mustard seed, but grows strong as we water it with the Word. All things are possible when we put our trust in You. Thank You for showing us how to take the “if” out of our situations.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
