For any person to function effectively they must have something of use, value or quality to draw on.
They also must have an action plan or strategy which can help in difficult times.
But most of all, they must not be afraid to step out into territories that are new or unknown to them.
The same holds true in our Spiritual lives.
Gideon was a man of a brave and active spirit.
The Lord was calling him to a task that required him to be of great courage and leadership.
He was to lead Israel to a military victory over their enemies. The Midianites.
Gideon had strong emotions to undertake something great. Something he never dreamed of.
But for this he had the feeling that he was not the one for this position.
He was afraid and became weak in faith.
This made it hard for him to accept the assurances that God would be present with all they were about to go through.
Gideon struggled with it and finally humbled himself, sent forth an offering and prayed.
Earnestly asking for a sign that the Lord would be with him.
An Angel answered and a sign was given to Gideon, that he had found grace in God’s sight.
God would equip him with what he needed. He needed only to obey.
The Lord has successfully produced church leaders and teachers who never dreamed that they could do the job.
There are many of us He is still desiring to use, if we would trust and believe.
He has the power to provide us with everything necessary to be effective in accomplishing that which He desires us to do.
We must not let the feelings that we are not qualified for the task cause us to be doubt God’s faithfulness.
God can enable us to perform far beyond our natural abilities.
We are not to let ourselves or anyone else make us feel like we can’t do it.
There is a place for all of us in God’s plans.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, help us to be and do what you want. We know if You did it for Gideon, You will do the same for us too. You always provide the resources that we need. Thank You for giving us the power we need to make it through it all.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
