Honour thy father and thy mother, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee; that thy days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with thee, in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. Deuteronomy 5:16 KJV
There was a story in which a second-grade teacher taught a lesson regarding a magnet and what it does.
When it came time for a test, one of the questions stated, “My name has six letters. The first one is m, I pick up things. What am I?”
The teacher was surprised when she found that 50 percent of the students had answered the question with the word ‘mother.’
Even though that was not the answer she was looking for, they were correct.
Mother do pick up things, like clothing, toys, and other things around the house.
But they are much more than a magnet.
They have a higher calling in their life.
We all know that a good mother loves her family.
She strives to provide a positive atmosphere, security, and understanding.
To be there when her children need a listening ear or comforting words.
She always gives a warm hug or a loving touch when we feel ill.
For the Christian mother, the most fulfilling thing is to teach our children to trust and love Jesus as their Savior.
To be their prime example of Christianity means to our lives.
To see them grow in faith and live according to His Word.
We all know that Mother’s Day is a special day for honoring mothers.
But mothers deserve to be honored every day.
Shown, not only in words, but by our respect, thoughtfulness, and deeds towards her.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Savior, motherhood is a gift from above. It is precious in so many ways. They are there for us all the days of our lives. Our relationships are blessed when she is a living example of what it means to serve You. To live according to the Word. We are thankful for the godly mothers that bring their children up to know more about You. We are happy for our mothers every day, not just on Mother’s Day. Thank You Savior for all the Christian Mothers all over the world.
In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
