And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!
Mark 10:24 KJV
We have all been amazed by someone or something that had some extremely good or special qualities.
Some of them had fame, wealth, fine houses, and many friends.
All things that will be lost at some time in life’s journey.
But the Words of the Lord and the miracles He will perform in our lives are forever.
That is why He expressed to the disciples and followers, that we cannot serve God and man at the same time.
We should not fail to respond with amazement, as earlier eyewitness did.
Some were astonished by Jesus’ words and His works but later became offended by His teachings.
They turned away in unbelief.
But for others, their amazement led them to faith and a new life.
A life filled with worship.
Think about it.
How long has it been since any of us have been amazed by the love shown by Jesus, by the thought of His sacrifice or by His never-ending care?
We should all take a moment to think about the wonders He has performed in our lives and given Him worship and praise.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, help us to remember that those who eagerly seek the wealth of the world, will never receive, or understand the importance of Christ and His grace. That from sin He set us free. No words can express, the praise we offer unto Thee. Thank You for everything!
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
