Run When You See It Coming

Read: 2 Timothy 2:14-26 KJV

Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 2 Timothy 2:22 KJV

It is not hard to find ourselves in a state of temptation.

We all know it is simply a desire to engage in something that only lasts for a minute.

It hinders our future goals.

Sin is something that brings us pleasure for a moment.

Following it is wrong and unwise because we soon learn that it doesn’t pay.

We should flee from it because it hinders the blessings that the Lord has for us.

As Christians, we must always be prepared to resist any temptations to do evil.

Hating sin and being so serious about not giving in to it.

Knowing that these are the things that cause us to perform actions not pleasing to the Lord.

The more we follow that which is good, the faster and further we can flee from that which is evil.

We each need to look at our lives and see if there are any recurring sins that are defeating us.

Taking the correct measures to help keep us away from those things we know will play on our weaknesses.

Remembering, that our best protection against sin is as Paul told Timothy.

He said, “Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.”

That was good advice back then and still holds true today.

Let us not be blind to the things that are hindering us but look to the Lord who has taught us to follow His leading.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Lord, there are so many temptations we face in life. We know that the more we follow that which is good, we have a better chance of fleeing from that which is evil. We desire to be delivered. Let us continue to remember that our way of escape is through repentance. We need to put on our running shoes, faithfully pray and follow Your Word.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
