Blotted Out

Read: Psalms 25:4-10

Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness’ sake, O LORD. Psalms 25:7 KJV

As we age, we notice that our memory can seem to be improving and sometimes slipping.

Some thoughts are of good times and others can be about things we wish we had not done.

For many of us, as we think about those memories, we also recall that we took the opportunity to talk to the Lord and ask for forgiveness.

How it felt so good to know we had been forgiven.

Believers in Christ and His dying on the cross for all mankind, should be even more confident in the fact that our sins were forgiven.

Even those who have been walking with Lord for some time still needs and desires to be taught by Him.

King David even remembered his past sins.

They were disturbing but he talked to the Lord about them.

He was seeking guidance for all that he was going through and thanking Him for all He was doing.

It brought peace to his troubled spirit ad mind.

His actions showed us that even when sins of the past come to mind and begin to bother us, we can talk to the Lord about them.

We can be restored and reaffirm the confidence we have about God’s everlasting love.

His mercy, and unconditional acceptance of us.

Knowing that when God pardons our sins, He is said to remember them no more.

A sign of a full forgiveness.

Our memories, remind us that the Lord is always there to help us.

We see His mercy displayed and His Word fulfilled, no matter our situation.

When we stop trusting in what we think we know and desire to be taught and follow Divine guidance, we will have rest for our souls.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Lord, we understand why King David put his trust in You. None of us are perfect. We all have our moments of regret. Our desire to be led by You. Show us Your ways Lord. Lead us on the paths we should be taking. The regrets we have of yesterday are gone because of Your saving grace. Thank You Lord for forgiving us.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
