Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. Colossians 3:2 KJV
Each morning when we rise, we should determine what our attitude will be for the day.
Saying a prayer to the Lord, asking for His guidance to make it through the day.
Knowing that the things of the earth will try to weigh us down.
Praying that we stay away from sinful attitudes and worldly practices.
To help us be aware of anything that, even though it may not be wrong in itself, is contrary to God’s will for us.
Because we don’t want to do those things that will take away from our love for the Lord and His ways.
We are to be heavenly-minded.
Obedient to the Word.
Heaven and earth are opposite by nature and cannot be followed together.
The affection for one will weaken and take away from the affection of the other.
When we are born again we become dead to sin and it’s dominion is broken.
Throughout our Christian lives, we are to set our minds o things above and put off our old ways of thinking and doing things.
An atmosphere that keeps our day pleasant and peaceful.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, let us start each day with prayer. Asking for the guidance we need so we do not find ourselves in any questionable situations. Knowing that when we set our minds on things above and no on the things of this earth, the blessings of Heaven are ours. Thank You Lord.
