We all have our moments where we don’t have the confidence or assurance we need to believe.
They can be troubling and cause us to have doubts about our eternal destiny.
Our obedience to all God’s commandments is what makes it easy to gain the confidence and assurance we need.
To make our situations even the more pleasant.
The commandment that we believe on the name of Jesus is one of them.
When we believe and live according to the Word, we know that we will be granted eternal life.
Faith is the cause of victory.
It the means, the instrument, and the spiritual armor by which we overcome.
In and by faith we cleave to Christ.
Helping us to disregard and oppose anything the world could put before us.
Faith sanctifies the heart.
It purifies it from the things by which the world takes dominion over our souls.
It has the indwelling Spirit of grace, which is greater than he who dwells in the world.
We have seen our guilt and misery, and our need of such a Savior.
We have seen it in and by the life and conduct of the Lord Jesus on earth.
He showed us that this world is to be renounced and overcome.
When the real Christian sees the suitableness of such a Savior, they will feel the power of the Word and Doctrine of Christ.
All the answers to our spiritual wants and circumstances, we will be found in Him.
The experience will be humbling, healing, quickening, and comforting to our souls.
Finding such strength from faith in Christ, is what’s helps us to overcome the world.
Putting us on the road to a better, more pleasant life.
Knowing this gives us even more reason to believe on the name of the Son of God.
When we read the following passages of Scriptures, John 3:16 and Romans 10:9-10., we gain the strength to press on.
There is salvation by faith in the Lord for those who believe in Him and accept His finished work.
All we must do is place our trust in Him and know that we can face the future with confidence and joy.
We are sure that Heaven is our eternal home.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Believers have eternal life in the covenant of the gospel. Father, let us thankfully receive the Scripture. Remember the things that were written. That we believe on the name of the Son of God, abound in the work of the Lord and obtain eternal life.
